Background
There are increasing rates of teenage pregnancy. In Clara and Gobah towns, anecdotal information shows that teenage pregnancy and incidences of abortion are common, though grossly under-reported in the ministry of health official statistics. Much as adolescents are initiating sexual debut, uptake of contraceptives is low thereby contributing to adverse health and social related outcomes such as abortion, teenage pregnancies, and school dropout for girls. A combination of individual, socio-cultural, and systemic factors is undermining uptake of modern contraceptives, affecting majorly adolescents.
