About the project
This change project was conducted as a capacity building training on Gender Based Violence with the objectives of improving knowledge among healthcare providers of Bago General Hospital and Nyaunglaybin Township Hospital, and strengthening their ability to provide supportive care for GBV. The change project piloted the use of the newly developed National Guideline of health sector response for GBV and involved in its finalization.
Results
One month after training, basic health staff and hospital staff had significantly sustained their knowledge score, 89% and 82%, respectively. There were 25 survivors who received supportive care, reporting period of June 2018 to February 2019. This change project provided valuable feedback to the National program for finalization of Guideline (disseminated in October 2018) and TOT training.
