Background
Teenage pregnancy remains a challenge with unmet need for family planning for ages between 15-19 years in Liberia. It accounts for the high school drop-outs; 80% of girls in junior secondary school have had one or more children. Patterns of sexual behavior reported by the Liberia Demographic health survey 2013 showed that young people within this age range are at high risk of contracting Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). Furthermore, available health services were not strengthened to provide youth-friendly services. Family planning services are offered at below optimum level with frequent stock out of commodities and very little uptake by young people.
